Faith Formation

Equipping God’s faithful people for Discipleship & Evangelization

Forming Disciples for the New Evangelization

“The work of evangelization in the world of the military, requires a growing assumption of responsibility, so that, in military life as well, there be an ever new, convicted and joyful proclamation of Jesus Christ, the one hope for life and peace for all humanity.”

– Pope Benedict XVI, address to Military Ordinaries, October 22, 2011

Family Based Faith Formation

A New Way to Think About Religious Education

This year we begin a new type of religious education and faith formation program. At its center, is the foundational concept in Catholic teaching, that “parents are the first and foremost educators of their children in the faith.”

Through Family Faith Formation families are introduced to the spiritual treasures of the home, the domestic church (domus ecclesia). Parents can learn and share with their children practices such as grace before meals, reading and praying with Scripture, and learning about the lives of the saints.

With our introduction of the “A Family of Faith”  curriculum families come together once a month to participate in a communal faith formation program that will foster growing in relationship with one another, learning the truths of the Catholic Faith,  and discovering how to apply these in daily life.

The remainder of the month at home parents and children have the opportunity to build deeper relationships through discussion and reflection on topics that matter in their lives.

Sacramental Preparation Classes

In addition to Family Based Faith Formation those families with children in second grade and of confirmation age will additionally participate supplemental sacramental preparation classes.

We will provide more information as we determine class sizes.

Please see the policy and procedures page for more details specific to the AMS.
